About Il Mattone
Located at 49 Beach St, New York, NY 10013, Il Mattone operates as a pizza restaurant serving New York in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under delivery restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
In New York, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across New York on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. Gluten-free crusts and vegan cheese are increasingly common but often cost a few dollars extra, and cross-contact in a shared oven is standard unless the shop says otherwise.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 amβ9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and New York follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I regret we didn't have a great experience here. We ordered a full cheese pizza and a single pineapple slice. The cheese pizza did taste like it had fresh ingredients, but overall was just fairly mid. The pineapple slice wasn't even ready when we got there and their solution is the attached photo: they took a cheese slice and just laid the ham and pineapple on top with no cooking.

Came upon this place by chance after dinner in Tribeca. Omg. π³ from the first bites of the plain slice I knew I was in a fantastic pizzeria. These guys are the old school nyc style pizzerias that are rapidly harder to find. The slices I tried were delicious. Definitely will come back for their parm sandwiches and their salads. They even had a small tv on showing the nba playoffs! What a gem of a spot!

Living in downtown Manhattan, we have endless options when it comes to Italian food, but for our Super Bowl party we decided to try Il Mattone for the first time β and wow, were we impressed. We ordered several pies, and every one arrived hot, cheesy, and absolutely delicious. I was thrilled to discover such a fantastic gem right in our area. A few weeks later, I ordered entrees when friends came over, and again the meals were outstanding and very reasonably priced. Last night, my husband and I tried the Chicken Parm and Chicken Marsala. He loved the parm, which secretly made me happy because it meant I didnβt have to share the Marsala! Everything was beautifully cooked and full of flavor. Il Mattone has officially become our go-to spot. Living in a large complex in Battery Park, Iβve been recommending them to everyone β although many people already seem to know how great they are. Looking forward to many more exceptional meals from Il Mattone!

Weβve been getting food from here for years and itβs always been exceptional. We regularly order the ziti pizza pie along with cheese pies. The ziti pizza pies are always prepared exceptionally so we didnβt open the box to check before we left, as we expected what we usually get. Not only was the food terribly prepared, but when I called to order, a staff member picked up and was yelling something at me and I was unable to understand what he was saying. He then hung up on me. I was informed shortly afterward that it was the OWNER speaking to me like that and that he was βdrunk.β Lol. Very unprofessional and disappointing. Wonβt be ordering from here anymore. Will spread the word too !!!!!!

The pizza is fantasticβcrispy crust, just the right amount of char, and quality ingredients that actually taste fresh. I went with the classic Margherita and a white pie with prosciutto, and both were perfectly balanced and flavorful. The sauce has that rich, tangy depth that shows they take pride in the basics. Atmosphere is casual but cozy, with a laid-back staff that makes you feel right at home. Itβs the kind of place where you can relax with friends over a cold beer and a hot pie without feeling rushed. Whether youβre in for a quick slice or a full sit-down meal, Il Mattone delivers. Definitely one of the better pizza joints in the area.
